CMP appeals referendum ruling in an effort to further silence Maine voters

July 2, 2020 - FARMINGTON - As expected, CMP/Avangrid/Iberdrola have appealed the trial court's decision on allowing the referendum to the Supreme Court. They are asking for an expedited schedule to get a decision by August 28, which is apparently the deadline for the Secretary to get the ballot language out to the printers. Read the appeal documents HERE.

Sandi Howard, Principal Officer of No CMP Corridor PAC responded - "Considering the fact that after spending $10 million on advertising with no push back from the other side, they are still 20 points behind, it isn't surprising that CMP's foreign stakeholders are willing to take this lawsuit as far as they can possibly go. They know that if the people of Maine are finally able to have a say on their for-profit corridor project, they will lose. It's sad they will go so far to silence their own customers."
