Sandi Howard of No CMP Corridor Praises Representative Jared Golden for Support of an Environmental Impact Study (EIS) for CMP's Corridor
Golden sent a letter to the Army Corp of Engineers requesting an EIS be completed
Howard of No CMP Corridor said "It's heartening that a member of our federal delegation recognizes the extensive environmental damage CMP's proposed corridor would bring to Maine's undeveloped forest. Opponents of the project have said from the start that an EIS should be done to evaluate the full impacts of this corridor on the people and natural resources along the impacted route."
She continued, "The absence of this important study has been a driving factor behind the referendum, because it has been clear that this project hasn't gotten a fair shake during the permitting process thus far. No CMP Corridor would now urge the rest of our congressional delegation to follow Rep. Golden's lead in calling for a comprehensive study from the Army Corp of Engineers."
